On 15 April, an ENSAMBLE presentation meeting was organized in Propriano (Corsica) to illustrate the
objectives of the project and to involve the local actors from Val Sartenais Valinco Taravo, already
operating in the framework of TourisMED project. The meeting also saw the participation of a Tunisian
delegation, consisting of a representative of WWF North Africa and two delegates from the city of
Tabarka belonging to the Regional Tourism Office and the Fisheries and Aquaculture Chamber.
The first part of the discussion was dedicated to the presentation of the activities related to TourisMED, a
project that made it possible to strengthen the development of fishing tourism in Corsica and to set up a
group of local actors involved in the implementation and promotion of diversification activities . As part of
this project, the territory of Valinco, Sartenais and Taravo was chosen as a pilot area, to promote
initiatives concerning maritime, rural and mountain heritage and local products.
The second part of the meeting allowed instead to illustrate ENSAMBLE, a project that aims to
strengthen the capacities of the group of stakeholders formed thanks to TourisMED and export this
working method to Tunisia, since the management of fish resources and the conservation of heritage
linked to artisanal fishing are common problems throughout the Mediterranean.
The initiative, very participatory, made it possible to provide a first example to the Tabarka delegates of a
CLLD approach and to present the objectives of the ENSAMBLE project to the actors already engaged in
a concerted approach on the issues of professional fishing and tourism.
A first opportunity for exchange and reflection among local stakeholders in view of the meeting
scheduled in two days in Sardinia.
