New programming meeting in Propriano to plan autumn activities with local stakeholders

On 23th July, in Propriano, a meeting was held between the group of local Corse actors to plan the actions to implement in the coming months of the project, with the aim of respecting the following priorities:

• Strengthening of the pescatourism

• Ittitourism development

• promotion of port heritage and fisheries

• strengthening actions on land (agricultural and pastoral) and sea (professional fisheries)

The meeting was attended by Antoine Duval (Vice-Chairman of the Maritime Fisheries and Marine Farming Committee of Corsica (CRPMEM) and Fishing Court of Ajaccio), Yannick Leger (Project manager of the Pôle d’Equilibre Territorial et Rural du Valinco, Sartenais), François Arrighi (Project manager of the Corsican Environment Office), François Tramoni (GAL of South Corsica), Tommaso Scavone and Rémi Bellia (Petra Patrimonia Corsica).

The discussion allowed to address many of the central themes of ENSAMBLE and brought out some important proposals, on which the coming months of work will be based.

For what concerns fishing tourism, it was decided to organize a meeting with the professionals at the end of the fishing season – starting from November – to identify the new candidates interested in starting the activity and assist them in the administrative procedures for the authorization’s request, while regarding ittitourism, the objective is to create a work group charged with studying the regional regulations that govern it.

It is also a shared opinion that the promotion of the tangible and intangible heritage of port areas is a potential to be exploited, through the implementation of new tourist activities, such as, for example, heritage cruises, which have the merit of highlighting cultural and territorial aspects that are not well known to the general public.

Speaking of strengthening terrestrial and maritime activities finally, the objective is to involve the GAL of Corsica and Southern Corsica, so as to have a common vision on the activities that could be developed.

All these aspects will be analyzed in the coming months, in parallel with the workshops that will be organized in the fall in Tuscany and Corsica, and which will bring together French, Italian and Tunisian partners and stakeholders.
